Walmart Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation: 2 Men Nabbed In Rockland County Incident, Police Say

Two men have been arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly claiming they had a bomb inside a Walmart in Rockland County, prompting a full evacuation and law enforcement response, police announced.

The incident happened on Sunday, March 9, 2025, when officers received a report of a bomb threat at the Walmart in Airmont, Ramapo Police said on Wednesday, March 12.

Witnesses told officers that two men had entered the store and stated they had a bomb. They then left the premises before police arrived, according to the department. 

Law enforcement agencies, including K9 units specializing in explosive detection, conducted a thorough search of the building, but no explosives were found.

Following an investigation by the Ramapo Police Investigations Division, authorities were able to identify the two suspects involved. On Wednesday, both were arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat.  

The suspects were identified as Spring Valley resident Francky Charles, age 21, and Nyack resident Roosevelt Depas, age 22, police said. 

Both men were arraigned before Village of Airmont Justice Straus and released without bail, pending future court appearances.
